I write & direct every song

Growing up in Haiti, Latifab was surrounded by the vibrant sights, sounds, and traditions of her country's culture. Music, family gatherings, dancing, and community were woven into everyday life, and whenever music played, she danced. It was a natural expression of happiness and freedom, a way to connect with people without saying a word.

The move to the United States brought language and cultural barriers that made everyday life difficult. In a school where she didn't fully understand the language, uncertainty and isolation were constant companions, but dance became her outlet, a place where language didn't matter and feelings could move freely. She threw herself into ballet, jazz, modern dance, and theater, and years later her dedication earned her an invitation to teach at a belly dance convention in 2017.

At the same time, she never stopped pushing herself off the stage: she earned a degree in Healthcare Management Science, proof of a commitment to growth and excellence in every part of life.

What began as a creative idea grew into a passion for songwriting and music creation. Latifab writes from conversations, personal reflections, and life experience, turning stories into lyrics about love, patience, relationships, resilience, self-worth, and personal growth. Her sound blends Haitian music, R&B, rap, oriental influences, violin, guitar, and percussion with contemporary production, a fusion that reflects the diverse experiences that shaped her.

She feels her songwriting is guided by something bigger, God pushed her to write, and a mother's hours shape the work too: she builds her music late at night, after the house falls quiet. Her idol is Shakira, and her message is simple: challenges don't define your future, and every story deserves to be told.

Signature Sounds

Every song Latifab writes carries a signature sound: a chant, a rhythm, a texture she creates herself. Nothing on her records is decoration: every sound holds a deep message, woven into the story of the song. Across her forthcoming album The Journey Back To Happiness, all thirteen tracks carry their own signature. This is her sound, and no one else has it.

Every sound in my music has a message. Latifab
Signature chant · “Why Me”

“Woobe beh beh, drop dumm”

The chant she created for “Why Me,” the lead single of The Journey Back To Happiness, a Middle Eastern-inspired call-and-response built from her own voice and vision, directed verse by verse in the studio. The first of thirteen: every track on the album carries its own signature sound, each with a deep message behind it.
